its been way too long.

I'm finally back for good. back to good old Singapore. and i miss Perth and everyone there so very much. some how what tingxuan asked me seemed to ring in my head. he asked why do i like Perth so much, I've lived in Singapore for like 20 years yet it can't compare to the 2 years in Perth.

no one really understood, and to me i really wanted hock to see Perth in my eyes, to understand why i really love Perth. and after the 8 days in Perth, he finally understood why i was in tears throughout my whole flight, why i couldn't turn back to see Alex, Emma and kirke waving goodbye at the airport, why i keep a picture of them on my wall. because they are they most wonderful and loving people to live with. though there are the meddlesome times where everyone seems to be in a foul mood. it was really the best 2 years of my life.

I'll never regret choosing Murdoch University, and Flat 2. I'll miss the nights talking to Alex about movies and our beloved plants and kirke's sudden stomping up and around the corridor and his array of musical instruments and animal sounds, and of course tea drinking with him. Min and her second sound voice (yes i do miss your noise min!), hanisha and her chocolate cravings, Emma hopping around the house with her heat pack and lovey dovey moments with Alex, and Steven the handsome boy from Switzerland who is almost never home.

weird that i still call that place "home", it was the home that i created from scratch, goodbye home.

no matter what, i will go back to Perth, no matter what, i will see these people once more.

janice. swine flu is like 2 degrees away from me. SHIT!

janice. simplicity and sincerity.

it doesn't help that your lecturer hates you.

it doesn't help that you help others to score higher than you

it doesn't help that I'm banging my head on the wall for feeling so stupid

i question the balance between being generous and selfish

i question the fact are grades really that important?

i question the paper chase or knowledge chase

janice. i question my purpose.

I've been so busy with studies, and camping out in the library with my earphones. but today was a super fun day. gotta study more later once I've sort of rested enough.

I helped out the Career Counsellor Professional Development at Murdoch today, it was so entertaining. Played with hydrogen cars, saw our law students (hot intellectual boys in suits. YUMM) present a case at the moot court, met Grant Stone head of the Laughter Club here. did some laughs (we looked really really stupid, which made me laugh harder) met the Deans of each faculty. Talked to way too many teachers from the High schools.

I think the awesome thing is that as student ambassadors here, its so different with Singapore. i have to really mingle with the crowd, not just bring them around. talk to them, one of them was telling me about his kids and fishing. haha. and i also got to make friends with a dude from Brunei- Azahar and a chick that has Irish backgrounds- Siobhan (pronounced as "sher-von") and another Australian chick- Rachael. spoke to one of the staff that has this awesome English accent.

ahh. what a fulfilling day, got a free lunch and tea from the university too. took a few muffins home. haha.

well, on a side note, I've applied for a job here after an offer came. Its a research based job to assist some Japanese researchers on fruit flies in citrus fruits. they pay like $22 an hour. But. BUT the thing is that I'm just trying my luck. I'm just so chill about it, its a bonus if i actually get it. The thing is that people around me are over reacting. LIKE SERIOUSLY!

omg, they act as if I've gotten the job, or that i don't know what I've gotten myself into.

chill people.

"emex" were convulsing like fishes out of the water about coming to visit me at my new house? min just called telling me that i need to apply for visa. i really appreciate their enthusiasm, but i doubt I'll get the job, why, because I'm not Australian. its just that simple.

nevertheless, i love these people. and i will miss them either way.

janice. back to my books.

i've been way too busy with assignments and presentations, after friday, my last week of studying in uni is over.

grace says that it seems not too far away that i headed for perth, now 2 years later, its over. i've fallen in love with perth, the weather, the people; i've fallen in love with Murdoch University; the lecturers, my classmates, my housemates, my friends.

now in 1 month, exactly, i'll say goodbye to perth. to everything that i love. to the life that i have created independently.

but now, i have 3 more assignments on hand and yesterday was the crap presentation i had. bad bad bad. but we will pass.

more pictures after friday, and sexpo too.

janice. i really wonder.

Vicky was here for a week for her percussion course, and it was nice to see her. Minus the dodgy dude at her hotel lobby trying to chat us up. with the world's lousiest pick up line: "you smell so fragrant". WTH. does he think he is a dog or a vampire?

that aside, i had a super fun time out with her and hanisha. brought her shopping, buy stuff that she needed (and wanted) and dragged her to take the bus and had dinner at my fav viet place.okay, i've really got way too much work and 2 expos coming up this week. Mr M told me about the sexpo. hahah, i'll go check it out.

janice. i'll miss Perth so much. will you miss me too?

well, there has been so much going on that i haven't had much time to rest well.

1. assignments are seriously crashing man, but in less than 2 weeks, my uni school life will be over, no more classes in the lecture theatres, no more labs, more more workshops. just exams in the cold winter. then its back home. i really wonder where is my home. I've been feeling so comfortable here, in my flat. so independent, so blissfully happy. its weird that I'm saying goodbye to this.

2. I've started doing events for Murdoch Uni as the ambassador, and i talked to parents and high school kids, had dinner with teachers (awkward!) and soon I'll be attending career nights and expos all around.

3. I've finished reading all 4 of the twilight series books off my lap top in 5 days. i actually really enjoyed the book. it was really easy to digest and be happy in this fantasy world, so surreal. and happy that it ended happily.

4. spent sometime strumming kirke's guitar and he taught me a few chords. which seriously hurt my fingers, and it doesn't help that my hands are so small. oh well, but i seriously considered picking up music again. i miss music, not much of concert band but more than that.

5. the frantic of all the things i have been squeezing together. makes me quite weirdly sane, and min and kirke balances it off with their weird eccentric stuff. like singing so off tune in the lounge in the middle of the night.

janice. you know how much I'll miss this family of mine.

the boy has gone to Genting with his pals. and I'm missing him. but yet I've got so much work to finish, just (almost) finished compiling the report and we finally managed to shorten down all the stuff and it actually looks Ok now.

went bush bashing with kirke and found out that Murdoch actually used to have an amphitheatre which is now barren and grass all over the place. it was quite cool really. except that i had to climb trees and kirke has to carry me down half the time.

called home after 1 month, and after 5 mins of talking to mummy, she says ok take care of yourself. love you. bye.. feel so unloved. haha.

watched Twilight 2 nights in a row. and I'm quite sick of it, though the soundtrack of instrumental pieces is awesome.

ate buffet for lunch, spotted wins and zac. still full from lunch.

janice. i love moscato rosa. random gibberish.

Friday, May 01, 2009

I'm god damn annoyed with compiling the report for my project.

FYI compile= To put together or compose from materials gathered from several sources

NOT cleaning up all the work. Seriously if i just submit the crap they just sent me we'll fail. 2 pages on Singapore's market environment is 12 pages all the over the place. what the hell is this coming from final year students?

and they seriously don't know how to use Microsoft word. like. HOW DIFFICULT IS USING THAT? now when i compile, half the time I'm correcting their formatting. use the indentation or tab man, not the space key. use page breaks not the enter key. is it that difficult? references are not in the same format. ALL OVER THE PLACE. i really feel like cursing man.

ARRGH. these people give me high blood pressure.

janice. breathe! this is a bloody waste of my time.
